Welcome to Quantum Optoelectronics at Vanderbilt

We bridge equilibrium and non-equilibrium quantum materials physics by using tailored light to create, characterize, manipulate, and stabilize novel quantum phases in materials. We do so by interrogating interesting, new, or complex materials using micro-structured electronic circuits which operate on timescales from minutes down to femtoseconds.

Our group sits within both the College of Arts and Science, and the School of Engineering, enabling us to translate our exciting discoveries into next-gen devices. We hope our prototypical devices translate to faster beyond-classical computing, more energy efficient electronics, and new computing architectures with ultrafast functionality.
